Sigma Faye Coran, Senior Rabbi Rabbi Sigma Faye Coran became Senior Rabbi of K.K. Bene Israel / Rockdale Temple on July 1, 2004 and is the first female Senior Rabbi serving a Cincinnati congregation. She was ordained at Hebrew Union College, Cincinnati, Ohio in 1993, and served as the Jewish Chaplain at Williams College, Williamstown, Massachusetts until 2004. She was also the Family Educator at Congregation Beth Israel, North Adams, Massachusetts. Since ordination, Rabbi Coran has served congregations in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Worchester, Massachusetts and has been active in a variety of social action organizations. Sissy lives in Cincinnati with her husband, Rabbi Matthew Kraus, and their four children, Jacob, Shirah, Micah, and Eden.

Rabbi Mark N. Goldman, Rabbi Емеritus
Rabbi Goldman served as the 9th Senior Rabbi at Rockdale Temple from 1986 to 2004. Ordained in 1967, Rabbi Goldman served as U.S. Army Chaplain at Fort Hood, Texas, during the Vietnam War; Assistant Rabbi of Temple Emanu-El, New York City; Chaplain of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; and Rabbi at Temple Sinai, Lawrence, New York. Rabbi Goldman has served on the boards of Caracole House, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and has been President of the Greater Cincinnati Board of Rabbis. Rabbi Goldman served on the Race Relations Council of Greater Cincinnati, is active in interfaith work, and received the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Spirit Award in 2004. As of September 1st, 2004, Rabbi Goldman is serving the congregation of Temple Bet Yam in St. Augustine, Florida. Margaret Friedman-Vaughan, Director of Education and Administration Margaret Friedman-Vaughan is Rockdale Temple’s Director of Education and Administration. She previously taught at Congregation Micah and The Temple/Ohabai Sholom, Nashville, Tennessee and served as youth group advisor to Congregation Am Shalom, Bowling Green, Kentucky, where she was a founding member of the congregation and served as its first president. Margaret attended Cincinnati’s Hebrew Union College, Para-Rabbinic Program for the Reform Movement. She graduated from Vanderbilt University Divinity School with a Masters of Theology in Jewish Studies. In addition to her temple activities, Ms. Friedman-Vaughan has had work experience in social work, mental health, and long term care. Ms. Friedman-Vaughan also has a Master’s of Art in Health Services Management from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. She is a member of the National Association of Temple Educators and the National Association of Temple Administrators. Ari Plost, Rabbinic Intern Originally from Washington, DC, Ari earned his B.A. with Honors from Swarthmore College (1998) where he was a varsity swimmer and president of the student body. Prior to Rabbinical School, Ari worked for eights years as a management consultant to a variety of organizations, including the Federal Government, private companies and non-profits. During Rabbinical school, Ari has served as a student Rabbi to Congregation B'Nai Israel in West Virginia, Culver Academy in Indiana and Temple Chai in Texas.He has also worked as Director of Jewish Education for Camp Tel Noar in New Hampshire and as a teachers at the Reform Jewish High School in Cincinnati. Ari is a former Rabbinical Fellow of the Jewish Council of Urban Affairs in Chicago and was elected as the Student Vice President for Tikkun Olam activities at Hebrew Union College.
