Let My People Go… to the Rockdale Family Retreat!
“Get out” Friday afternoon, February 5 – Sunday morning, February 7, 2016 to General Butler State Resort Park for an amazing weekend with your Rockdale school community! Celebrate Shabbat, learn together, and have fun as we explore the EXODUS – “Let my people go!”
The weekend is open to all Rockdale families with children in PreSchool – 8th Grade (younger siblings are welcome).
Please register your family using the form below. Families registered by January 1st pay $25 per person or $100 family maximum. Families registered by January 25th pay $35 per person or $140 family maximum. Payment is due as soon as possible following registration to hold your spot.
All meals, programs, and accommodations are included! We look forward to spending a great weekend together.
What’s included? Everything but your transportation to and from the resort park – meals, snacks, programs, hotel rooms, games, materials, and more!
Can we bring our younger kids? Babies and little siblings are welcome to attend! We’ll have a special Tot Shabbat playgroup and breakfast early Saturday morning, special play spaces for little ones, and opportunities for big kids to hang out with madrichim and staff while parents put little siblings to bed. **Childcare available late night!**
Anything special for the adults? YES! Adult socials late night, including drinks! **Childcare available**
Tell me about the accommodations! We will stay in the resort park’s lodge, which offers hotel rooms with private bathrooms. You’ll enjoy a very comfortable stay!
How about meals? We’ll eat well… and often! Allergies and dietary needs will be accomodated (please specifiy on your registration form) at every meal and snack. Twice daily snacks will keep everyone happy and full, and meals promise to be delicious!
What can we expect from the program itself? You’ll enjoy a spirited, camp-style Shabbat evening experience for the whole family, including services, dinner, song sesion, and story time. Evening programs are offered both nights for various age groups, and parents can enjoy late night adults-only socials. Shabbat morning includes an early morning breakfast and playgroup for our littlest friends, and families have their choice of creative, age-appropriate Shabbat service experiences. Our afternoon will be filled with experiential, hands-on learning and exploration of the Passover Story… Let My People Go! Everyone can enjoy chugim – choice activities, as well as free time options ranging from resting in your room to a giant outdoor game (and everything in between – movies, park history tours, and more). Repair the world with a special social action project on Shabbat afternoon – more details soon. And of course, enjoy an amazing weekend bonding and learning as a family, while making new friends and spending time with your Rockdale community. We can’t wait!!!
