It is an exciting time for K.K. Bene Israel/Rockdale Temple as we prepare to celebrate our bicentennial in 5784! We have a historic place in the development of Judaism in the United States. Rockdale is the oldest continuous Jewish congregation west of the Allegheny Mountains and also the 11th oldest congregation in America.
Through its Senior Rabbis from Dr. Max Lilienthal to Rabbi Meredith Kahan – ten in all – the congregation has grown, changed, moved, and become a leader in Cincinnati. A celebration of the past is an opportunity to look into the future. Just as the past Rabbis built a congregation for us and our families, we must pledge to continue that tradition into the next 200 years.
Rockdale Temple has established the Bicentennial Fund with the goal to ensure that rabbinic leadership will carry on the traditions of the past, while placing a unique stamp within the congregational family.
