Health & Safety update, March 18, 2022
March 18, 2022
Dear Rockdale Temple Family,
Chag Purim Sameach – Happy Purim! In this season of increased joy, we are especially glad to note the favorably low COVID-19 transmission trends in our community. Rockdale Temple’s Health Safety Team, working in conjunction with our professional staff and Executive Committee leadership, recently brought new recommendations to the Board of Directors, who approved these updated guidelines effective Friday, March 18th:
- Masks are optional for individuals who have been vaccinated and for children who are not yet eligible for the vaccine (ages 4 and under).
- Masks are required for individuals who are eligible for vaccination but have not been vaccinated.
- While vaccination against COVID-19 is strongly encouraged, Rockdale will no longer require vaccination, nor ask for proof of vaccination to enter our building or programs.
- Participants may be requested to wear masks while in close proximity with others (i.e., an office meeting) or at a program that presents a higher risk of transmission. We will continue to have masks on hand at Temple and Rockdale staff will be happy to mask for your comfort.
- Frequent handwashing and hygiene practices are encouraged, and we ask our congregational community to stay home when sick. Rockdale staff will continue to clean and sanitize around our building.
- Individuals’ choice to mask and/or sacredly-distance will be kindly respected by all.
- Kehal Kodesh will have specific policies that will be communicated to the Religious School community directly.
Rockdale’s Health Safety Team and leadership will continue to monitor pandemic conditions and be prepared to adapt our guidelines as needed.
Our Rockdale Temple Family has shown great patience, flexibility, and care for one another over these past two years. We are excited to move into this next stage of congregational life, even as we know this transition will be challenging for some. We will continue to offer online and multi-access opportunities so all may participate in congregational life in a comfortable manner.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Temple office or contact John Cobey directly (jgcobey@gmail.com or 513-324-3642). We look forward to seeing your smiling faces at Rockdale soon.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Meredith Kahan John G. Cobey David Solomon Dr. Edward Herzig
