Giving to Create Your Jewish Legacy is a privilege. I am a product of the legacy of my grandparents and parents who came to this country for freedom. They gave me the understanding of what it means to be an American Jew. It is my honor to give to Create Your Jewish Legacy to insure that Jewish culture in America, and in Cincinnati specifically, will endure. How fortunate I am to be able to contribute to the Bene Israel Society.
Rockdale Temple has been designated by me as the recipient of my legacy. I have been a member since 1952 when I married Marvin A. May and became a Reform Jew. My sons were educated and confirmed there; many lifecycle events took place, joys and sorrows shared. This Temple has been an increasing influence in my daily life as I age, providing me a Temple family. The rabbis, staff, and congregants are special members of this Temple family. I hope that Create Your Jewish Legacy will enable Rockdale Temple to do this for future generations.
When Create Your Jewish Legacy was announced, I immediately felt the desire to be part of it and to include my second husband, Robert E. Prescott, who was deceased. Bob and I met at Shabbat morning services at Rockdale where he had converted to Judaism and made the Temple an important part of his life. We shared this and were regulars in attendance at services and participated in many activities. It is important to me to include Bob as a donor to the Bene Israel Society.
I am honored to be asked to write this testimonial as part of my legacy.
