Rabbinic Intern Karen Martin will lead us into the world of Modern Midrash! Take a look at women in our sacred texts through the lenses of both classical and modern Midrash. Each week, we’ll look at the texts surrounding a particular woman and discuss how these characters are interpreted and what lessons we can draw from these interpretations. We’ll look at Midrashim about Lilith and Eve, Sarah and Hagar, Michal daughter of Saul, and others. An asynchronous lesson introducing Midrash, and its form, and history, will be made available prior to the start of the series.
Texts will be provided ahead of time (see below); you are welcome to join whenever you are able! This Rak Limud will be held on Zoom only – bring your lunch or a hot drink and enjoy this hour of learning together!
