Shofar Service

Saturday, September 19, 2020 1 Tishrei 5781

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Join us in your family car for a sacredly-distance Shofar Service in the Rockdale Temple Parking Lot!

Participation in this event requires an RSVP.  To RSVP please fill out the form below:

Weather:
If we need to postpone/cancel due to weather, we will let you know by email and social media post by 2pm on Saturday
Arrival:
You are welcome to arrive between 3:30  and 3:50 pm to the Rockdale Temple/JCC parking lot. We will begin promptly at 4:00 pm.

When you enter the lot, you’ll be directed by a Rockdale staff member to a parking spot.

Once parked, please get comfortable and orient yourselves to enjoy the service. The “bima” will be situated in front of Ronald Reagan/Cross County by the Rockdale Temple – marked parking spots.

Health and Safety:
Please remember that everyone must stay in their cars throughout the service. There are no restrooms/indoor facilities available.

If you have your windows open, please remember to wear a mask.

You are welcome to bring food to enjoy in your car, but please do not have anything delivered to you in our lot or share food with another car/family.

Shofar Service Experience:
Our family-friendly service will last no more than one hour.

We will do our best to give everyone a decent sightline to the "Bima" .
The diagram below will give you an idea of our set-up.

Our speakers will be turned up high!
Friends and family at home are invited to participate in services, too – we will be professionally live-streamed from the parking lot and broadcasting on our website and Facebook at 4:00pm.

Departure:
Cars will be parked in a sacredly-distanced manner, but arranged so that everyone can see well. Please plan to stay throughout the service.

After the service, our staff will safely direct cars out of the parking lot.

Thank you for following these instructions as we strive to keep everyone safe and healthy, and to promote the Jewish value of pikuach nefesh, the preservation of life.

Questions or concerns? Contact the Rockdale Temple office at 513-891-9900 or padkins@rockdaletemple.org.
