Useful Women: An Original Play about the Women in King David’s Court

Join Rabbinic Intern Karen Martin as she presents her Capstone to our Rockdale community! All are invited to a special table reading of excerpts from Useful Women, a play that focuses on the lives of the women in King David’s court as they grapple with lost love, dashed expectations, and the struggle to find their voice as the latter half of David’s reign devolves into intergenerational drama and civil war. This original play was written as part of Karen’s HUC Ordination Capstone project; following the table reading, Karen will host a discussion on the play and her research. Coffee and desserts will be served!
