We ended our Bicentennial celebration with the dedication of the extraordinary Torah of Women mosaic installation, given by the Coran-Kraus family in honor of Rabbi Coran, z’’l. Not only is the artwork beautiful, moving, and thought-provoking, but it also opened up the hallway just beyond the Messer Chapel for use as a new gathering space.
For years, that hallway has been underutilized—it was storage space. Now we can make it a new place to socialize, relax, and contemplate. The updated hallway also will improve our experiences for Shabbat nosh, Festival days, life-cycle events, and Kehal Kodesh Religious School, offering better traffic flow and more places to sit while we enjoy each other’s company and our beautiful new art.
Our High Holy Day appeal for 5785 is for you to help us make that place special. With your support, we will purchase comfortable seating, tables and chairs for eating and meeting, and more to outfit that new area. We will also create some more appropriate storage for the items moved out of that hallway space. Your contributions are vital to making all of this possible.
