Welcome to Rockdale Temple  

Welcome to K.K. Bene Israel, familiarly known as Rockdale Temple. Rockdale Temple is the oldest congregation west of the Allegheny Mountains.  Founded in 1824, Rockdale Temple has always been at the forefront of Reform Judaism in America and was one of the founding congregations of the Union for Reform Judaismand the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Our synagogue emphasizes the importance of individuals and we strive to welcome new members into our community. Rockdale's First Ever Pictorial Directory!  

For the first time, we are producing a pictorial directory! This should help us foster even a greater sense of community here at Rockdale. We have set up dates in March and May in order to allow as many members as possible to take advantage of this opportunity. 

There is no cost to you to be included in the directory.

Lifetouch Photo will be at Rockdale on the following dates:

 The Purposes and Values of Rockdale Temple Are:

  • To promote the fundamental and enduring principles of Judaism as expressed in the Reform Jewish Movement;
  • To ensure the continuity and future of the Jewish people;

  • To promote the religious and spiritual needs of its members; to enable its members to develop a relationship with the one God through communal worship, study of Torah, activites and assembly;
